School Info

Children can start at Jay Jangles from the age of 1 year. We offer part time and  full time child care.

Preparing to start

We recognise that new experiences can be a little daunting and so will work with you on how best to settle your child in at Jay Jangles.

Completing the admission form

Please complete the admission form enclosed so that we have all the information we need to care for your child. Please keep us informed of any changes as this is what will use should we need to contact you. By admitting your child to Jay Jangles you are agreeing to abide by our policies, terms and conditions.

First sessions

Please be assured that though you and your child may feel a little nervous our staff will take care of them and you may call to see how your child is settling. A cheery ‘See you soon’ is usually the best way to leave.

Education_14 October_165Clothing and toileting

We provide aprons for the children when they play with messy activities. We encourage children to gain the skills that help them to be independent and look after themselves. These include taking themselves to the toilet and taking off – and putting on – outdoor clothes. Clothing that is easy for them to manage will help them to do this. Please provide a named bag with spare clothes/nappies.

Lunch and Snacks

The centre provides a healthy mid-morning snack and an afternoon snack, a packed lunch should be brought if your child is full time. Please can you ensure your child brings a personal labelled bottle of water which will be available to them during the session.

Illness

Please do not send your child to the centre if they are suffering from an infectious illness such as sickness, diarrhoea, chicken pox, conjunctivitis; or if they have head lice, thread worms or a temperature. Children should remain at home for 24 hours after symptoms have subsided and 48 hours in the case of sickness/diarrhoea. It is helpful if you could contact the centre if your child is ill and will not be attending that day. If your child becomes ill staff will administer the appropriate first aid, in the event of a more serious incident/accident the staff will take all reasonable steps to take care of your child ultimately arranging transport to hospital. Should your child require long term medication it may be able to be administered, please speak to the centre manager.

Change of collection

If someone different is collecting your child you are required to inform a member of staff.
